City of Powell River council has selected a company to review its general operations, service delivery and organizational structure. Council voted to award a contract to the Helios Group for a total of $72,800, a price that includes $7,800 for HST.
The city received seven bids after it issued a request for proposals. The Helios Group’s bid was the third lowest.
A group of council members and the chief administrative officer, Stan Westby, reviewed the seven proposals and rated them according to a matrix. Councillor Maggie Hathaway said the companies with the two lowest bids didn’t appear to have the skill set that would meet the city’s needs. “The Helios Group had some excellent references and they had all the skill sets and the staff to meet our needs,” she said. “We just felt they would be the superior option.”
