At the April 1 City of Powell River committee of the whole meeting, there was a rise and report from a closed special city council meeting held March 27.
At the committee meeting, councillor and committee chair Rob Southcott said that at the March 27 closed special council meeting, city council resolved to rise and report on the following update: that city council is working with BC Housing to expedite options for a temporary shelter, and that further information will be made public at an appropriate time.
At a meeting on March 18, the committee directed staff to report to council regarding city-owned buildings, bare lands or parking lots that may be suitable as an interim measure for emergency sheltering.
