At the May 16 committee of the whole meeting, it was recommended that city council make several staff appointments as officers of the city. The first recommendation was appointing Tom Day as the interim chief administrative officer until the city hires a new chief administrative officer.
The recommendation was also that council appoint and establish the order in which the deputy chief administrative officers perform their duties in the absence of the chief administrative officer. First in the order of ascendancy is corporate officer Chris Jackson, followed by chief financial officer Mallory Denniston.
The final recommendation was to appoint Ryan Youngman as the deputy chief financial officer to perform the duties in the absence of the chief financial officer.
The committee voted to send the matter to city council for approval.
