City of Powell River Council adopts financial plan resolutions

City of Powell River Council has given first three readings to an amendment bylaw for the 2024 five-year financial plan to include previous budget-related council resolutions.

According to a staff report, council has adopted several resolutions that have changed the funding and expenditures set in the plan.

Highlights include an increase in government transfers (grants to the city) of $646,798. These include special projects: the situation table, $72,000; and emergency Indigenous engagement of $40,000. There are also three capital projects amounting to $529,460, including: fire-hall generator, $60,000; mid-level connector, $450,000; Barnet Street sidewalk, $25,000.
