City of Powell River chief financial officer Mallory Denniston [centre] was presented the new member award from the Government Finance Officers Association of BC by city chief administrative officer Lisa Bhopalsingh and mayor Ron Woznow at the June 20 council meeting.
The association awarded Denniston for having distinguished herself early in her career through professional accomplishments, including navigating challenging supply chain issues, inflation and rising interest rates, with diligence and expertise.
She has also guided vital civic projects and introduced systems that improve efficiency, transparency and engagement, according to the association.
