Game times change

To avoid possible conflict with BC Hockey League playoffs, Powell River Regals have rescheduled upcoming Coy Cup qualifying homes games versus Williams Lake Stampeders, pushing the dates back by one week.

Originally scheduled to run from Friday, March 6, through Sunday, March 8, the best-of-three series will now begin at Hap Parker Arena on Friday, March 13. Game two is slated for Saturday, March 14, while game three (if necessary) will take place Sunday, March 15. Start times for each game have yet to be announced by the club.

Stampeders enter the series as two-time defending Coy Cup provincial champions. Regals last won the championship in 2010, one year after suffering a heartbreaking 5-4 overtime defeat to Williams Lake in the 2009 final. The winner earns a berth in Coy Cup 2015, hosted by Fort Nelson Yeti from Tuesday, March 24 through Sunday, March 29. Terrace River Kings qualified for the four-team round-robin tournament after defeating Williams Lake in the Central Interior Hockey League final last week. A series between Fort St. John and Whitehorse will determine the other entrant.
