Updated 11:50 a.m.

The Langdale ramp's mechanical issue has been fixed and the next scheduled sailing will leave Horseshoe Bay at 12:10 p.m., said a BC Ferries service notice.

Original story

Those travelling between the Sunshine Coast and Horseshoe Bay without a reservation Friday should prepare themselves for waits.

A mechanical issue with the Langdale ferry terminal's loading ramp means sailings between the Sunshine Coast and Horseshoe Bay will see vehicles loaded only on the main vehicle deck, Oct. 4.

Sailings may be delayed while the crew loads as many vehicles as possible. BC Ferries will do its best to accommodate reserved customers, but if travelling without a reservation, customers will have sailing waits, said BC Ferries.

Foot passenger space is unaffected.

"Our crews are working hard to fix the issue and updates will be provided once it has been resolved," said the 9:30 a.m. service notice. "We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience you may experience as a result of this issue."
