Adverse weather leads to January 2 ferry cancellations between Westview (Powell River) and Little River (Comox) terminals

BC Ferries cancels round-trips due to high winds; Sailings between Westview and Blubber Bay (Texada Island) terminals also cancelled

BC Ferries has announced sailing cancellations between Little River (Comox) and Westview (Powell River) terminals on January 2.

According to BC Ferries, due to adverse weather conditions (high winds), the following Salish Orca sailings will not run.

9:55 am departing Comox (Little River)
11:50 am departing Powell River (Westview)

9:55 am departing Comox (Little River)
11:50 am departing Powell River (Westview)

7:10 pm departing Little River
8:45 pm departing Powell River

The following Island K'ulut'a sailings between Westview and Blubber Bay (Texada Island) terminals have also been cancelled due to high winds.

11:25 am departing Texada Island
12:15 pm departing Powell River

3:30 pm departing Texada Island
4:15 pm departing Powell River

5:10 pm departing Texada Island
6:40 pm departing Powell River

7:25 pm departing Texada Island
8:15 pm departing Powell River

9:00 pm departing Texada Island
9:45 pm departing Powell River

Service will resume as soon as it is safe to do so, according to BC Ferries.

"The safety of our passengers and crew is of primary importance to us," stated BC Ferries. "We don’t take the decision to cancel sailings lightly, as we know customers rely on us to get to their destinations."
