MediaCorp Canada recently recognized First Credit Union as one of BC’s Top Employers. 2024 marks the third consecutive year FCU has been named to the list by MediaCorp, organizers of the annual Canada’s Top 100 Employers competition.
“We are proud to be leading the way in creating a work environment that supports the personal and professional growth of our team while making a positive difference in our communities," stated FCU chief people officer Charlene Davidson, in a media release. "We are honoured and grateful to receive this recognition."
The special designation recognizes BC employers who lead their industries in offering exceptional places to work, according to the release. The competition is open to any employer with a head office or principal place of business in BC.
Employers are reviewed using the following criteria points: workplace; work atmosphere and social; health, financial and family benefits; vacation and time off; employee communications; performance management; training and skills development; and community involvement.
First Credit Union serves more than 15,000 members in Powell River, Courtenay, Cumberland, Union Bay and Bowser, and on Texada, Hornby and Bowen islands.
