UPDATE: At 2:29 pm, BC Transit announced that conventional service in the Powell River Regional Transit System resumed, but rural service remains suspended.
Earlier in the day, at 8:55 am, an announcement was made that due to adverse weather and road conditions, conventional service in the Powell River Regional Transit System had been suspended until further notice. All handyDART trips for the day were cancelled, with all customers with scheduled trips notified.
As conditions continue to change, BC Transit stated that it will be updating customers as quickly as possible of service impacts.
