Powell River RCMP remind drivers that school zones are in effect

Drivers must slow down in designated areas from 8 am to 5 pm Monday to Friday

Now that School District 47 students are back in session, Powell River RCMP is reminding all drivers and cyclists that school zones are in effect Monday to Friday from 8 am to 5 pm.

Playground zones are in effect seven days a week from dawn until dusk. Drivers are urged to exercise caution around these areas and to watch for children on foot and riding bikes. Police will be conducting regular patrols and enforcing all Motor Vehicle Act offences, including speed and adherence to stop signs and crosswalks.
