Marine Avenue was the place to be on Sunday, December 4, as the annual Santa Claus Parade took over the main City of Powell River street in the late afternoon.
Fortunately the rain mostly held off. The cold, crisp weather did not deter families and community members from lining Marine from the bottom of Duncan Street to near Alberni Street to watch the parade, and take part in a market afterward.
Everyone was able to see jolly old Saint Nick, thanks to a ride provided by Powell River Fire Rescue, enjoy the treats being handed out and take in the decorated vehicles and people. It was a great afternoon for a parade and a time to celebrate the upcoming holiday season.
