Peak carriers were recognized and rewarded with a party at Dairy Queen on Barnet Street last weekend.
In addition to the carriers, who make sure the Peak and Peak Midweek get into the hands of qathet Regional District and City of Powell River readers every Thursday, Peak staff members were also on hand to socialize and share in a few treats.
“Many steps are required to get our products into the hands of readers,” explains Peak publisher Kelly Keil. "Our carriers come through for us time and time again, rain, snow or shine."
The Peak has had carriers of all ages since volume one, issue one was published in 1995.
“We are grateful to all of the youth and adults for their past contributions, and to the current crew, thank you so much for what you do,” adds Keil. “We appreciate the effort and dedication to ensuring the messages from local businesses, as well as the latest news, make it to mailboxes in a timely fashion. This wouldn’t work without our carriers.”
