A giant cedar tree fell during a wind storm a couple of months back, below the Second Beach trestle, damaging and blocking a footbridge, plus leaving branches and debris on the beach.
Now, a brand new bridge built by the BOMB (Bloody Old Men's Brigade) Squad is in place, ready to be used by the public once again. With what looks like wood used from the fallen tree, a sturdy pathway was built over the creek, leading to a pathway back to the Willingdon Beach Trail.
The Second Beach trestle is still waiting to have its own permanent bridge. Could the rest of the wood from the fallen tree (there seems to be quite a lot) be turned into a new bridge? What do readers think? Take the Peak opinion poll below.
