qathet Festival of the Performing Arts held a performance called A Musical Journey, from Classical to Jazz, at Evergreen Theatre in Powell River Recreation Complex on February 28.
qathet Symphony Orchestra, St. George’s Senior Concert Band, and the qathet and St. George’s concert bands combined and performed classical pieces, the Magic of Harry Potter, a bossa nova, and capped it off with George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, with soloist Edward Duan at the piano, receiving a standing ovation for his rendition of the iconic musical masterpiece.
qathet Festival of the Performing Arts runs from February 26 to March 8. The festival has a Facebook page that contains information about the 2025 event.
