It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Theresa Welp, wonderful and loving wife of Michael Murphy.
Theresa passed away peacefully on Friday, February 3, after a courageous battle with cancer. Throughout her illness, her faith, close family, Christian brothers and sisters, and friends kept her persevering until the very end.
Theresa spent most of her life in Montreal and had just recently moved with her husband, Michael, to Powell River in July 2021 to be closer to her family, nature and small-town living.
Theresa was born in Montreal to Hermann Welp and Elisabeth Furrer (both predeceased). Theresa leaves behind her brothers, Theo (Gwen) and Jerome (Roberta), sisters Carole and Elisabeth (predeceased), nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, friends and close-knit community at the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Theresa was a devout Christian and a true inspiration to all who had the pleasure of meeting her. She had a way of touching your heart and making your day. She was always ready to offer prayer to those who interacted with her. She was genuine in reflecting the light of Christ in her life.
Theresa will be remembered as a true follower of Jesus and will continue to live on in our hearts.
