Colin McNaughton passed away on June 23, 2022, in Powell River General Hospital after spending the day with his family. He was born and raised in Terrace, BC, then later moved to Powell River in 1986.
After arriving in Powell River he began the chefs training program and later on joined the military rangers, volunteer coast guard and became a prawn fisherman, but is most known for his career driving the Malaspina Coach.
He was an avid mushroom picker and loved the great outdoors, as well as having an unconditional amount of love for animals. Over everything else though, his passion was playing the guitar and fixing his jeep. Colin was a cancer survivor but unfortunately suffered long-term side effects of radiation therapy.
Colin is survived by his wife Johanna Craven, daughter Theresa, son Scott, mother Maureen, stepfather William (Bill), sister Heather (Bruce), brothers Stuart (Florence) and Brian, stepbrother William (Irene), his much loved cat Raz, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by his father Joseph and stepbrother Gordon.
The family would like to thank Dr. Toole, Dr. Baltzer, Dr. Burns, Dr. Bazza, all of the doctors and nurses from Vancouver General Hospital and Powell River General Hospital, and the Powell River ambulance and first responder services.
Colin is going to be greatly missed and we would like to invite family, friends and anybody who knew him to celebrate his life with us on his birthday, August 15, at Willingdon Beach, potluck style, where the logger sports are held, from 4 pm until dark.
