Graduates to parade through Powell River streets

Procession begins in Grief Point area, concludes with gathering at Willingdon Beach

Brooks Secondary School grade 12 students celebrated their commencement at a graduation ceremony inside Hap Parker Arena at Powell River Recreation Complex [above] on Saturday, June 10. Celebrations continue this weekend, outdoors this time, with a vehicle parade on Sunday, June 25.

Brooks Secondary School graduates will continue celebrations related to their rite of passage with a vehicle parade through City of Powell River streets on Sunday, June 25.

The parade will leave the Beach Gardens Resort parking lot at 11 am and conclude at Willingdon Beach, where awards will be handed out for the best-decorated vehicle. A gathering will be held in the Loggers Memorial Bowl area for more end-of-school festivities.

2023 GRAD PARADE ROUTE:

  1. Exit Beach Gardens parking lot
  2. Across Highway 101, up Cariboo Avenue
  3. Left turn on Toba Street
  4. Right turn on Joyce Avenue
  5. Left turn on Alberni Street
  6. Right turn onto Marine Avenue
  7. End at Willingdon Beach
