In 1936, the horror film Frankenstein, which starred Boris Karloff and was based on author Mary Shelley’s 1818 novel, was released.
In 1976, the movie Rocky, starring Sylvester Stallone, premiered in theatres. It won the Academy Award for best picture in 1977.
In 1977, the first flight of the Concorde supersonic airliner departed from London and landed in New York. The last versions of the aircraft were retired in 2003.
In 1980, musician John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono posed nude for photographer Allan Tannenbaum.
