In 1924, Boston Bruins officially became the National Hockey League’s first American-based team. Montreal Maroons also joined the NHL that day but suspended play in 1938.
In 1997, the movie Titanic, directed by Canadian filmmaker James Cameron, which later won an Oscar for best picture, premiered at the Tokyo International Film Festival.
