Paul den Ouden submitted today’s featured image of a bald eagle perched on driftwood stuck in the rocks of the south harbour breakwater in Westview earlier this month.

On this day:
In 1881, in Tombstone, Arizona, Wyatt Earp, two of his brothers and “Doc” Holliday met members of Ike Clanton’s gang, three of whom were killed in the incident, in a gunfight at the OK Corral. Earp’s brothers and Holliday were wounded.

In 1984, the film that led to several sequels, The Terminator, directed by Canadian James Cameron and starring future California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, premiered in theatres.
