The spring equinox has come, the sun is setting later and later each day, and Lent is being observed by some, and will end, when Easter begins.
Soon, many young people and families will be taking part in another annual tradition: the Easter egg hunt. For the second-year, Westview’s mini-golf course will hold the outdoor event, rain or shine, on the Sunday of Easter weekend.
Golf will not be played but, “hunters will bring a basket and we will send them off to find five different coloured eggs,” said manager Cindy Temple. “Once those are found, they bring them to me and I trade the eggs for a goodie bag.
“In each bag there are some treats, a small toy, always a chocolate bunny and a coupon for a free game of golf,” she added.
This year, Temple said she is hiding a golden egg.
“If the golden egg is found, the finder is entered into a draw to receive a gift certificate for the Beach Hut, four rounds of golf and four small ice cream’s at Putters.”
Interested participants are invited to drop by on Sunday, April 9, from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
