Powell River Action Centre Food Bank manager Savanna Dee [above] displays a cheque from Powell River resident Cory Ashworth, who raised the donation through a bumper sticker fundraising campaign in April.

“We were able to collect $861.35 in sticker sales and donations,” said Ashworth. “I was super stoked with the response and excited to drop the cheque off at the food bank.”

Ashworth set a stand up at the end of his driveway in Townsite for passersby to access the bumper stickers, which feature a red heart with “Powtown” lettering on the inside created by local artist Meghan Hildebrand. More are available.

“If people want us to mail them a sticker, they can make an e-transfer donation to [email protected] and we will give 100 per cent of their donation to the food bank,” said Ashworth. “If they can’t afford to donate, they can request a sticker by using the same email address and have it mailed.”

Tax receipts are available if a name and address accompanies the donation.
