Whale tale

A number of Powell River residents were lucky to see three humpback whales cruise up the coast Friday, October 23. A bit of a traffic jam happened along Marine Avenue as people parked their cars to get closer to the whales.

Fall back

Powell River residents will be catching up on their sleep this weekend. Daylight saving time comes to an end at 2 am on Sunday, November 1. Powell Riverites should set their clocks back one hour before going to sleep on Saturday.

Setting it straight

Incorrect information appeared in a story appearing in the paper version of the Peak about the Powell River Branch of the BCSPCA in last week’s issue. It is not a member of the Powell River and District United Way.
